The Best Web Designer for Coaches?
As you’ll have seen in my post 7 reasons why coaches MUST have a website, all coaches need a website in order to stand out from the crowd, add credibility, and create the perfect client converting sales funnel. Everybody and their grandma can have a good-looking LinkedIn/Instagram/Facebook profile, but only a real professional coach will invest in having a professional website.
But why should you choose me to design your website?
Screw generic, I ONLY design websites for Coaches
Each day I dedicate a chunk of time to looking up coaches. I look them up on social media, interact with them on LinkedIn, and check out their websites. I talk to potential clients and actual clients. I even have two coaches myself, a life coach and a business coach. Some of my best friends are coaches.
Yes, one reason I do this is for client outreach to prospect for more coaching clients. However, a big part of why I do this is actually to learn. By talking and interacting with coaches I’m constantly learning about the needs of coaches. What are the things coaches are struggling with? What do their coaching businesses need help with? This in turn has helped me better gear my business to best help coaches overcome these challenges and become more successful.
Not only that, but I look at a lot of coaching websites. And I mean, a lot. I love checking out coach’s websites as it helps me get better as a designer. Some web design companies might be happy with charging clients for churning out the same thing again and again, but that’s not me. I like to push myself; I like to take what I’m seeing and learning so that every website I create is better than the last.
There are very few web designers or web design agencies that do what I do – Design websites for coaches. There are loads of web designers that design all sorts of websites, but not that many people who have decided to specialize in designing websites for coaches. I’ve done the general route. I’ve worked with different businesses in a variety of industries and then I chose to specialize in what I love the most (and am best at).
Marketing for Coaches is Different
If you look at the marketing for most businesses, you’ll notice that they purposely don’t make it personal because the focus is on the product or service they are trying to sell. Take Coca-Cola or Uber; You don’t know anything about the people behind their product/service right?
Well, that more standard marketing model doesn’t work with coaches, because you aren’t just selling your coaching services. You are selling yourself. Signing up with a coach is an incredibly personal choice. You’re not just going to choose the cheapest option or the first one you see on google. You probably won’t even just go with the one recommended to you by a friend. Before signing up with a coach, you need to know WHO they are, and not just WHAT they do. You need to feel that their personality, as well as their approach, will work for you.
A web designer or agency that doesn’t specialize in coaches just won’t be used to providing the type of solution that coaches need.
100% Personalized – We get very close!
If you look at different web designers or web design agencies, you’ll see that a lot of their designs look the same, or you might see that they talk about using a template. And whilst I’m sure they’ll give you lots of good reasons why that works, I don’t believe that the cookie-cutter approach can work for coaching websites.
As I mentioned before, marketing for coaches is a different kettle of fish. It’s hugely personal as you are selling yourself as well as your services. A web designer just can’t provide a personal website using a template. Would an artist’s painting be unique if they were using a stencil? Or if a sculpture’s statues were made from the same mould? No.
Not only do you need to be hugely personal when marketing yourself as a coach, but your competition is all other coaches with personal branding too. If you just look like one more of the same, then how can you stand out amongst the crowd?
Each one of my coaching websites is 100% personalized. The first part of my web design process is the “Discovery Phase” in which I work with my clients to really dig into their coaching business. Not only will I get really stuck into understanding the services and value that you offer, but I will also spend time getting to know you. We will get very close through this process so that I can understand both the coach and person behind the business so that I can then use this to create a handcrafted website that is optimized to best interest the type of client that will be best helped by you.
I hold your hand before, during and after
By only working with coaches, I’ve been able to craft a step-by-step process specifically made for:
- Coaches who aren’t getting enough clients.
- Coaches who know a website will up their digital marketing game.
- Busy coaches who need someone they can trust to make it quick and easy
- Coaches who are looking for someone to make the whole process an easy step-by-step journey.
I hate it when I sign up to something and it’s unclear what I need to do next, or when I’m going to hear back… One of my guiding principles is to make it EASY for coaches. You’ve got enough to do in your business, so when you sign up for a professional website design the process should be as clear as 1-2-3.
We’ll start with a clarity call to make sure that we are right for each other and of course we’ll discuss things like whether you need a website, my process, pricing, and whether we’re a good fit.
Throughout the designing process, I provide a complete range of onboarding documents and instructions so it’s clear what each of us is supposed to do next, and so you know what are the upcoming milestones.
Another differentiator that I believe makes me stand out over other web designers is that I ‘don’t just hit it and quit it’. Once we’ve launched your website, not only will I show you how to use and update the website yourself, but I’ll also stick around for a month afterward to make any tweaks or edits. Obviously, after that you can sign up for one of my website care plans and keep me around forever
Conversion Focused Web Design for Coaches
As a website designer, it can be very easy to get sucked into focusing too much on how good the website looks. Although the website looking good is important, when I design websites for coaches the question I ask myself is “Is this website going to get you coaching clients?”.
By keeping staying locked onto the objective of getting you more coaching clients it helps me adjust each design and make every decision to achieve that goal.
A beautiful website that isn’t designed to bring your leads through the journey to signing up with you as a coaching client is a crap website.
